Things that may be in the next firmware.
- SpringBoard is replaced
- Video recording (possible new API)
- Maps API (for devs)
- Copy/paste
- and more...
As you may or may not know. Usually firmware changes for example like (going from 2.2 to 2.2.1) do not bring upon big changes. A number change for example from firmware 1.1.4(from the iPod touch 1st gen) to firmware 2.0 brings upon bigger changes like the App Store. So hopefully as 3.0 strolls by on March 17th(hopefully) there will be room for big changes mentioned above. I am just eager to see what Apple has cooked up for this update.

Apple's calling this an "advance preview of what we're building," so we're not expecting anything ready to go as of the 17th, but hopefully this will allow developers to start building toward future functionality (hey, how about some push notifications?), and presumably users won't have too many months to wait after that for the real deal.
